Rock and Ice Climbing

Recognized as one of the finest climbing areas in Eastern Ontario, the cliffs at Calabogie are busy year round offering climbers a fun and challenging climbing experience. In Summer, it's rock climbing; in Winter, the cliffs freeze over and attention shifts to ice climbing.

Directions:

From the intersection of #508 and #511 in Calabogie, drive 9 km west on #508 (Calabogie Rd.) to the Manitou Mountain Trailhead. Parking can be found along the side of the road.

To get to the climbing cliffs, stay to the right on the Manitou Mountain Trail as it splits shortly after entering the woods. Follow the trail along the base of the mountain for 5-10 minutes until the trail ends at the climbing cliffs.

Note - these cliffs can be dangerous. They are intended for experienced climbers with the proper climbing equipment. Amateur climbers should never attempt to climb these cliffs unless they are under the direct supervision of an experienced climber. The area further along the cliffs at Eagle's Nest should not be used as a climbing spot as it is considered Sacred, extremely dangerous and unsupervised.
