Mayor Emon, Mayor Briscoe, Mayor Heins and Mayor Johnston sat down and represented the interests of their communities working collectively towards the solution that is now known as the Renfrew and Area Health Services Village.

The Renfrew and Area Health Services Village concept came together as a vehicle to recruit physicians and to promote specific and needed economic development in our community. Mayor Emon and the other 3 Mayors fanned out to consult and tweak the model. When it all came together the real hard work started...putting together the model and recruiting a doctor. This involved putting together a team outside of the municipal sphere.

They were extremely fortunate the Renfrew Industrial Commission recognized the importance of the model and agreed to be a valued partner. Equally as important has been the commitment of Renfrew Home Hardware Building Center. Their commitment to our community and the recognition of this initiative as an important community priority is quite inspiring as well as a challenge for the rest of our community.

The Renfrew and Area Health Services Village initiative would not have been able to move forward if they did not have the excellent spade work previously completed by RVH. RVH has provided an exceptional facility and work environment which complements the efforts of the municipalities. They have kept the interest of several candidates through the efforts of Barb Desilets, Randy Penney and the medical community.
