Greater Madawaska: 2007-2017
Strategic plans are based on the premise that the community can develop local visions and goals of what it wants to become, determine the methods that offer the best chance of being successful, and apply resources to achieve them.
The strategies outlined here address a number of key choices the Township of Greater Madawaska must make to provide effective long-term direction for the municipality. They have the potential to inform all decisions made by the organization, both on a day-to-day basis and at major milestones or decision-points.
This document is based on extensive consultation with residents and ratepayers from the Township of Greater Madawaska that began in the summer of 2006. Input and feedback were provided to the consultants through one-on-one interviews, email, an online survey, and several small group and town hall meetings, including one held in Ottawa in order to reach out to seasonal property owners. This was followed by a report-back town hall session in October, follow-up consultation with staff and Council, further research, and final recommendations.
